About us

Very nice to meet you!

We are a Dutch-Ukrainian couple who can greatly enjoy all the beauty around us.

We fell in love with  the area around Werk aan het Spoel, a place full of history, nature and culture. We love to see others enjoying the environment and each other, like we do.

The yard consists of a farm from before 1648, renovated in 1906 and from 2017, a black barn, renovated in 2018 based on the wooden construction from the 18th century, the haystack completely renovated in 2020 on the site of a centuries-old real haystack and Olina's Dacha, a tiny house for our (mother-in-law Olga who eventually left for Ukraine with homesickness. In all four we offer accommodation and in the backyard and meadow all kinds of experiences to make your stay a party!

How we started

When we came here in 2017, we had no idea how beautiful the nature and cultural history of the area are. Until shortly before 2017, Het Spoel was a dairy farm and before that also an orchard, with a much larger pasture, which has become smaller and smaller over the years, to about 16,000 m2. The farm is older than 1648, but completely rebuilt in 1911 and renovated from top to bottom in recent years. The barn has  been sold and replaced by a house. From the proceeds we renovated the outbuildings and now by offering accommodation in those accommodations we can work daily at the same time to enjoy the yard.
